Why is my beef partially brown?Beef steaks or roasts that have turned browner in color are not an indicator of being spoiled. Beef oxidizes with the air outside the package and changes red colors to a darker browner color. This does not mean that brown steaks CANNOT be spoiled, but it is not a sign of it on its own. Spoiled meat will have a yellow/greenish color, a slimy appearance and/or smells poorly. If the meat youve received shows any of these signs at purchase or shortly after, please let an associate know and we will be quick to replace or refund you. Our meat department works hard to ensure the safety and quality of our meat products that are presented to the customers.
